Several years ago, a group of women in the church decided to use their interests and skills in needle craft to form the “Bless That Stitch” ministry and create items of comfort and usefulness to our congregation as well as outlying community. It began by knitting and crocheting prayer shawls for those in our church who were the ill and home bound. It branched out into making fleece blankets for the Linus Project for hospitalized children. Comfort blankets were made for children of local deployed soldiers to the Middle East. Drawstring the bags were given to The James Project the bags were made for children in foster care. We also make baby blankets for new babies in our church family as well the staff at Fairview School. The most recent project is making pillowcases for the young women at Crossroads Transitional Living Program. Many small items have been made to use at fundraising bazaars, the money going to the Fairview School Library. the purchase of games for our youth, and other needs as they arose. New idea are always being sought to use our skills and experience to help others.
